How to Break the Spending Habit
Thursday August 9, 2007
Looking for a way to break your bad spending habits? Then, consider this idea:
Shop without a Cart
Have you noticed how big shopping carts are getting? Those babies are designed to keep you shopping! Avoid this clever spending trap by only taking a cart when you have a lot to buy. Otherwise, grab a shopping basket or carry your items. You’ll be less tempted to shop when you don’t have anywhere to put your selections.

I try not to shop for so few things that they would all fit into a basket. A list, and tunnel vision are my technique. Works for me!
I stopped getting the Sunday paper with all the ads and my spending has dropped to only the necessities. I also bought a small car and have found I have to buy less because more won’t fit.
