With the latest reports suggesting that tax rebates could arrive as soon as May, now is a good time to think about how you'll spend (or save) yours. LaToya Irby, our guide to Credit/ Debt Management, has some great suggestions you might want to consider: Do you already have a plan for your tax rebate? Share the details!

We have no debt and are doing well in our savings. We recently opened a new account to purchase a new used car. Our rebate will go into that account.

I don’t overpay my taxes, so I don’t usually get a tax refund over $100. Last year I used my refund to start paying the next year’s taxes.

It isn’t “free” money as LaToya Irby says. It is our, the taxpayers, money and I’m sure folks who pay $0 in taxes will get the “rebate” as well. I also don’t overpay my taxes, why should the government use my money for a year interest free, they will certainly charge me interest if I don’t pay by April 15th, at a stiff interest rate as well! I would rather they lower our tax rate than rebate our money in an election year to make politicians look like they care about the little guy.

I will put it towards credit cards, but I will donate at least $100 to my child’s school. PS I am talking about the projected $$ to stimulate the economy, I like the previous poster try to not over pay my taxes and usually get back very little.

I’m donating mine to a food bank. This is the time to reach out to those who aren’t being helped by rebates. Not frugal, but better than buying junk!
