If you have standard toilets in your home, you're using anywhere from 3.6 to 7 gallons of water per flush. Compare that to the 1.6 gallons of water that a low-flow toilet uses, and it's pretty apparent that there's room for improvement. But not everyone can afford to replace their toilets, and not everyone wants to.

Fortunately, there's another option. With a few simple (and affordable) modifications, you can convert any toilet to a low-flow. Weekend project anyone?

A couple of months ago, I converted to a low flush toilet. Make sure you have everything you need before you leave the store. My boys were skeptical but it works wonderfully and completely washes everything away.
