Get a Bigger Stimulus Check

Friday April 18, 2008

Want to make your stimulus check grow by 10%? Then, bring it to Sears, Kmart or Kroger. These stores are offering a 10% bonus to customers who redeem their stimulus checks for store gift cards. That's great news if you plan to use your check to build up your stockpile or to do some work on your house.

Planning to use your check to pay down debt or to build up your savings? Then, stick with your plan. Financial freedom beats an extra 10% any day.

Erin, how would this work if you had your stimulus check put into your bank account by direct deposit?

Hi frugallib,

That’s actually something we’ve been discussing on the forum. So far, I don’t think any of the stores have addressed this concern. I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything.
