Dehydrate Your Way to Savings

Wednesday May 21, 2008

Since Saturday I've picked and processed 32 pounds of strawberries. So . . . what did I do with all of that fruit? Some of the berries were turned into freezer jam, others were hulled and frozen whole, some will become popsicles, but a good portion of them have been dried in my dehydrator.

Drying fruit couldn't be easier. I just load my dehydrator before I go to bed, and in the morning I have loads of dried berries to store away for the winter. Yum!

Oh, the strawberries look delicious! I am waiting for my tomatoes so I can dehydrate those as well. I love being able to eat these fruits during the winter when the prices are so high at the stores. : )
