Become a Coupon Queen

Tuesday January 13, 2009
Coupon queens – they're the women that can go into a grocery store with a big pile of coupons, come out with a big cart of groceries and only lose a few pennies in the process. How do they do it?

The answer is lots of preparation and lots of coupons. Master these couponing tricks, and you'll be well on your way to coupon queen status:

Great advice. Giant stores in the Maryland area have triple coupons this week in the flyer. Any coupon that you have that is less than 99 cents, use their triple coupon and they triple that discount.

Hi, this may seem like an odd question, but what kind of coupons are these? Discounts off groceries? And where do you get them?

I have never seen such things in Australia. There are advertised specials but I don’t remember ever seeing vouchers.

I didn’t know that shopping was based on gender and as a 45yr old male that shops for groceries I was left a left a little cold by the “shopping queen” reference.

Hi m.markrush,

My “Coupon Queen” post wasn’t meant to exclude anyone. “Coupon Queen” is just a common term for the women that you see on news programs or read about in magazines who are able to buy cart loads of groceries for very little money. I didn’t coin the phrase, but I’d be happy to coin the phrase “coupon king” for all those frugal guys out there like yourself.
