Canning Supplies on Clearance

By August 23, 2010

Follow me on:

Waiting for canning supplies to go on sale? Well, wait no longer. While at Target Friday night, I spotted two endcaps loaded down with clearance-priced Ball jars, lids, bands and more!

Dig out those Ball coupons that ran in the paper earlier this summer (you know you've been saving them), and use them to sweeten the deal.

Save even more on canning supplies, buy used jars at yard sales, on Craigslist, on freecycle, and by asking everone in your circle, ‘Do you have any canning jars you don’t need?’ The nature of canning jars is that they exist forever unless you drop them on cement floors. Get out there and scrounge for free or cheap jars. The metal rings are reusable, and can be removed from the jars the day after the canning session when you check the seals. All you really have to buy (from a ‘new stuff store) is the round metal lids which are cheap. Recycle, help others clean out unwanted cans from their basements, save money, save resources, and buy used canning jars cheap or get them free. Most yard sale yield a couple of jars and you can get them for a dime a piece.

Hi,

I have been trying to find Kerr-Ball jar coupons this morning and to no avail. Can you PLEASE give me some direction as to how to find these coupons. I am starting to can and would so appreciate some coupons to help with the expense of buying the jars and lids.

Signed most Appreciative,

Wanda Cantrell

Hi Wanda,

Smart Source had a $3 off 2 cases coupon out in June, but unfortunately I haven’t seen any since then. Best of luck with your search.
