By Erin Huffstetler, About.com

Constantly running out of shampoo and toothpaste? It may be a sign that you're using more than you need to. Find out how much product experts say you should be using. Then, adjust your usage to capture the savings.

Shampoo

Use just under a tablespoon of shampoo, if you have long hair. Use even less, if you have short hair.

Conditioner

Use one to two teaspoons of conditioner, any more and the conditioner will weigh down your hair – not a good look.
