Want to save more? Then, make yourself a chalkboard piggy bank. He's so cute, you'll want to feed him all the time.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 15 minutes or less

Here's How:

  1. Apply a coat of chalkboard paint to the entire piggy bank.
  2. Let dry. Then, touch up as needed.
  3. Allow the paint to cure for 24 hours (refer to the paint label for specific instructions).
  4. Then, write your current savings goal on the side of your piggy bank with a piece of chalk, and start saving!

Tips:

  1. Look for piggy banks at thrift stores and yard sales that you can redo. If they're already glazed, just rough them up with a piece of sandpaper before you paint them.
  2. Make one for each of the kids on your gift list. It's a great way to encourage saving at an early age.

What You Need

  • Chalkboard paint
  • An unglazed piggy bank
  • A paint brush
  • Newspaper (to cover your work surface)
