Low-Cost Vegetarian Chili

Beans are a good, cheap source of protein. Here's a quick and easy vegetarian chili that promises to be as easy on your budget as it is on your taste buds.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 3 (15-16 oz.) cans of kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (12 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder (more if desired)
  • 2 cups water
Preparation:

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large pot; and simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Serve with sour cream, cheese, salsa, crackers or your topping of choice.
