Freeze greens when they're in season, and you can enjoy them year-round.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: 15 minutes

Here's How:

  1. Wash the greens, and remove any tough stems.
  2. Blanch the greens in boiling water. Blanch collard greens for three minutes. Blanch all other greens for two minutes.
  3. Rinse the greens in cold water to stop the cooking process.
  4. Squeeze out the excess water.
  5. Package in freezer bags or containers. Leave 1/2-inch headspace.
  6. Seal the container and freeze.
