Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Homemade cranberry sauce beats store-bought cranberry sauce in terms of taste and price. Make up a batch, and see what I mean:

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes


  • 1 package fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice


1. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan.

2. Bring to a boil.

3. Reduce heat, and cook for 4 minutes.

4. Cool before serving.

Tip: If you're looking to cut costs further, use water in place of the orange juice.

I made this last Christmas to absolutely fantastic family reviews. Even the little ones who think cranberry sauce (the kind in a can) is gross loved it. It made a big batch, so I added a little more sugar, stirred in some pecans, and then spread it into a casserole dish. I put a layer of whipped cream on top, popped it into the freezer and got rave reviews AGAIN for my Cranberry Freeze! This recipe is definitely worth a try!
