Guide Review - Nesco/American Harvest Snackmaster Dehydrator
At $40, the Nesco/American Harvest Snackmaster Dehydrator (FD-35) is a real steal. The top-mounted heater, strong blower fan and large drying trays deliver the kind of results that you'd expect from a much more expensive model.
Out of the box, the Snackmaster can handle five trays of fruits, vegetables or jerky at a time, and can easily be expanded to seven trays. Fruit roll sheets can also be purchased separately, if you'd like to use the Snackmaster to make fruit leathers or to dry sauces.
While it would be nice if the Snackmaster had more than one temperature setting and was a bit quieter, those features aren't important enough, in my book, to justify spending another $60+ on a dehydrator.
