What I Did:
My best find was a lamp that I've seen in stores for $12.95.
How I Did It:
I paid about $1 for the lamp. At another yard sale I found a recipe box full of recipe cards that looked like the kind that were sold on TV in the 1970's, I think I paid 50 cents for it.
I have also gotten some fans at yard sales, but they didn't work out like the lamp has.Lessons Learned:
- Look carefully at everything and anything that you are interested in buying. Consider whether you really need it, how you would use it and if it's in good condition.
- I'd be careful buying anything electronic at yard sales though, you don't know if it's a good deal or not. I just took a gamble because I saw the same lamp at stores, and it was in good condition (the glass wasn't broken and the metal base wasn't bent).
