Buying in Bulk

I use 1/2 gallon Ball jars. Take to the market to cut down on plastic waste and fill with the product I want. Whole Foods in our town has a large selection of organic beans, rice and whole grains that I stock up on.

Science Project

My son is doing a science project about gluten. The project required flours that I normally don't use, or use in large quantities. I was able to buy the flour the project required for a lot less money that if I had purchased the items off of the store shelf.

Bulk Food Favorites

I enjoy buying baking supplies such as spices for just pennies, whole wheat flour, flax seed, oatmeal, quinoa, sesame seeds, chocolate, dried beans, pasta, Parmesan cheese, coffee beans, and produce. I wish I could find such bulk food areas when I travel, including various oils and local specialties. And, the products in the bulk section are often better than I can find on the shelf!
