By , About.com GuideSeptember 14, 2009

Follow me on:

Take advantage of these deals, and start the week off with a big dose of savings:
  • Get $10 off any Juniors apparel purchase at Sears with this coupon. (Sounds like a free Christmas gift to me)
  • Become one of Texas Pete's Facebook fans; and if they reach 100,000 fans by November 15, they'll reward you with a coupon for a free bottle of hot sauce
  • Buy two boxes of Post cereal in a single trip to Walgreen's, and receive a free Redbox rental code on your receipt. Offer good through October 4
  • Visit a Carvel store on September 24, and get a free Oreo Lil' Rounder

Know of another great deal? I'd love to hear about it!

I think the free bottle of Texas Pete for facebook fans is an error. when I went to their facebook site, Texas Pete says that contrary to many statements wandering the web, they are only offering a buy 1 get 1 free coupon to all facebook friends if they reach 100,000 by Nov 1.

Wow this looks like a bait and switch on the part of Texas Pete. When I posted the offer there was a big banner on their Facebook page promising the free bottle (sure wish I had a screenshot because it’s gone now). My hunch would be that they intended to offer a BOGO coupon from the beginning but pitched it (perhaps a bit misleadingly) as a “free bottle” until they saw the kind of exposure they were getting and decided they needed to clarify.

After some digging, I managed to find this explanation of the offer:

Hmm, not so keen on Texas Pete now. I really hate a bait & switch, even for a bottle of hot sauce. Their marketing department should have done a better job of pre-screen to get an idea of the numbers.
