I grow almost all of my own vegetables from organic heirloom seeds. This way I can have unusual varieties that you won’t find on the plant racks at Home Depot or the local garden shop. When I get a particularly delicious tomato or other veggie, I save the seeds so I can grow it the following year. The larger the seed, the easier it is direct sow and grow yourself. So far I have peas, spinach, lettuce, and basil growing. My seedlings are being gently hardened off now so they will be ready for planting around Mother’s day.
