To make a sweater bag you will need:
- An old sweater
- A cloth belt or a length of ribbon (to serve as handles)
- Fabric for lining the inside of the bag (optional)
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing machine (optional)
Note: If you've chosen to work with a wool sweater, it's recommended that you felt it before continuing. This will add strength and beauty to the fabric.
Felting Instuctions: Wash your sweater on the hottest washer setting and dry it on high heat. This should cause the fabric to take on a soft, fused texture. If you can still see the weave in the fabric, it's not fully felted. Repeat the process until you get the desired results.
