How to Save Marigold Seeds


Enjoy growing marigolds? Learn how to save their seeds, and you won't have to buy new plants or seeds next year. Here's how:

1. Collect the dried flowers.

2. Carefully open the seed pods.

3. Remove the seeds.

4. Allow the seeds to air dry in a cool, dry location.

5. Store the seeds until next year.

6. A Few Things to Consider:

  • Only seeds from non-hybridized plants will create plants that are true to their parents
  • Seeds need to be kept cool and dry while in storage
  • For the best results, seeds should be used during the next growing season
